月は獅子座で新月の直前に金星と会合、この時、金星が月に隠れる「金星食」が起きます
観測可能地帯は
東アジア・北アメリカ大陸ですが
日本では残念ながら観測はかないません
ほとんどの地域で月出帯食とかさなり
東京では、4時39分に出現となるが、月の高度はわずか2°足らずで
この金星食の１０分後には 日の出が控えていますから
空がかなり明るい中での観測となるためです
アジアでは
中国東北部の一部で、出現のみ観測可能
ロシアでは
シベリア東部で観測できる
カナダ
北東部を除いて観測できるが、安全な観測は困難
アメリカ本土・アラスカ
カリフォルニア州とアリゾナ州のそれぞれごく一部を除いて観測できるが、安全な観測は難しい
メキシコ
北部で観測可能、けれど安全な観測は至難の業
カリブ海諸国
ほぼ全域で月没時の観測となる。
しかし、月が先に沈んでしまうので、やはり安全な観測は至難
そんなわけで、今回の金星食は
非常にパワフルですが、観測そのものは
日本で観測できるのは次回
2021年11月８日の白昼に起きる「金星食」まで待たねばならないようです
